Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training: Full Training or Refresher Training.

This workshop provides several de-escalation techniques and behavior management strategies to support students by using safe and non-harmful de-escalation and physical intervention techniques. CPI Training helps staff prepare for and reduce crisis situations, creating a safer workplace and culture of safety.

Course Times:

Full Training: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (8:00 – 8:30 registration) (morning refreshments and lunch included).
Refresher Training: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (afternoon snack included).

CPI (Full Training):

Completion of the Full CPI training leads to CPI certification and is divided into two sessions (Part I and Part II).

Part I – Online training modules. Before attending the Full CPI Training, participants must complete online modules (completed individually and takes approximately two hours). After registering for the Full CPI Training, participants will receive access to the online module. Participants will need to bring proof of completing the online training module to join the in-person training.
Part II – In-person training (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM).

CPI (Refresher Training):

If you have already completed a Full CPI Training within the last 12 months, participants must complete a 3-hour CPI Refresher Training to review CPI principles and strategies as well as opportunities for practice and problem-solving. Completion of the CP training will result in re-certification. (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
