Supporting Students During Stressful Times:
Immediate Practices and Strategies to Support Students’ Social, Emotional, Behavioral Learning and Well-Being

As we make our way through this third (and final?) year of educating during COVID-19, it is clear that education systems and practices are not always meeting the significant needs of students and the educators who support them. The BEST/VTPBIS State Team recently produced a user-friendly, actionable resource for educators, Supporting Educators During Stressful Times: Immediate and Long-Term Considerations for Systems Changes and Individual Wellbeing.

In response to anecdotal and survey feedback from stakeholders, the BEST/VTPBIS State Team also developed this NEW companion resource – Supporting Students During Stressful Times: Immediate Practices and Strategies to Promote Students’ Social, Emotional, Behavioral Learning and Well-being. We intentionally selected several “off the shelf” research-supported strategies*, practices, and activities that promote a culture and climate of safety, inclusion, and belonging that ensure equitable experiences for all learners.

This resource is not meant to be an exhaustive list or one more thing to pile on your plate! The links below will help you jump to resources as you need them. If you need any support implementing any of the suggested actions, VTPBIS TAs and VTPBIS coaches can help.
