The ultimate outcome of PBIS is to support all students, staff, and families/caregivers to have the most successful educational experience. This involves promoting social, emotional, behavioral, and academic growth.

To achieve this, we need to implement what is proven to be effective. We need to center equity through cultural responsiveness and we need to build collective ownership through eliciting voice and feedback.

The following is a summary of “what’s new with PBIS” based on new learnings about what works. The BEST Project/VTPBIS Team urges each school to review these resources, consider which areas your team may choose to prioritize, and get started. We recommend each team complete the PBIS Big Ideas Activity during the 2023-2024 school year. Please reach out to your TA (listed here) or coach (if you have one) for support.
